Board Member(s)

  • We are looking for individuals to join our dedicated and knowledgeable Board who strategically guide the organization forward using a policy-based governance model. As a volunteer Board Member, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and approval of Closer to Home’s overall strategic plan and budget and guide the organization using Board policies and objectives. You will also represent and promote the organization at external events and with stakeholders, help cultivate prospects, and raise funds.

All those interested in volunteering with Closer to Home would first contact our volunteer email, identify potential interest in positions available, and fill out an application form. You’ll be screened based on your skill development, interest and availability. A Program/Department will be identified based on all three criteria to become a volunteer. At Closer to Home, we want to ensure the best match possible between volunteers, our children, youth and families and our staff.

If accepted, you will be invited to the Program/Department and given an orientation by the staff. All volunteers must also review, accept and follow Closer to Home Volunteer policies and procedures. This information is provided to you and reviewed prior to site orientation.

We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities and commitment levels to accommodate your availability, from special events (Kids’ Christmas Party), seasonal (Summer Camps), and regularly scheduled opportunities (weekly, monthly). We value your time and commitment at every level!
