More Ways to Give

There are many other ways to make a difference and give in support of Closer to Home’s mission.

Agents of Change

Thinking of buying or selling your home? Now, you can change your address and help empower families at the same time.

Closer to Home is partnered with Agents of Change, an online service that custom-matches you with a real estate agent when you are buying or selling a home. Agents through this service will contribute 20% of their real estate commission to Closer to Home – at no cost to you!

ATB Cares

Donate through ATB Cares and ATB will match 20% of every dollar* donated to Closer to Home.

Visit www.atbcares.com/donate and search “Closer to Home” to have your donation matched today.

*Up to $5,000 matching per year per charity.

(Charitable tax receipts are issued electronically to donors through the Canadian Online Giving Foundation.)

Donate a Car

Donate-a-Car Canada now accepts vehicle, RV, boat or motorcycle donations for Closer to Home Community Services– and turns them into cash!

When you choose to donate your vehicle, all the details are managed for you, including free towing. When your donation is complete, you will be sent a tax receipt and families in Calgary will be empowered thanks to your generosity.

Shaw Birdies for Kids

Active Only March-August Annually

As part of the Shaw Charity Classic, Birdies for Kids is a fundraising program designed to help raise funds for local charities, engage the community in the tournament and provide matching funds for each charity involved.

Donors can make a one-time flat donation or a pledge for each birdie made by Champions Tour players during the Shaw Charity Classic. Charities will receive 100% of every donation collected on their behalf. In addition, charities will receive additional funds through the matching program! Donations will be matched up to 50% thanks to AltaLink and other corporate partners.

All donations received through Shaw Birdies for Kids will support vulnerable children and youth. Your gift will give children and youth in need the opportunity to access programs and services that help them improve their mental health, learn important life skills, build their confidence, healthily engage with peers and adults in their lives, and more.
