In this program, the Youth Therapist provides therapeutic services to youth ages 14+ focusing on goals that support improved mental health, building of skills such as emotional regulation and coping skills to recover from trauma, and teaches youth how to strengthen interpersonal relationships and improve their problem solving capacity. The therapist can meet youth where they feel most comfortable; in the community or in our office setting throughout the week, days or evenings.

Meet the Youth Therapists
I moved to Calgary the summer of 2013, right after the floods, from northern Alberta. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, education, and most recently a Masters of Counselling. I love working with people of all ages and stages, but definitely find youth the most fun. My therapeutic leanings are Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Mindfulness and Somatic based practices. I love challenging what we think we know while expanding what I think I know. I consider being able to listen and hold space for other people’s stories the greatest honour of my life.
In my spare time I love to explore, whether it be the physical world or through watching TV and movies, reading, or music. I also have a 1 year old kitten and an 11 year old chocolate lab that sometimes likes to join my therapy sessions.
Patience Tabi Owan
I specialize in working with adults and families and have experience supporting individuals struggling with addictions, depression, anxiety, self esteem, loneliness stress, parenting and trauma. My goal in each session is to provide individuals with practical strategies by using a positive problem solving approach. When I am not at work, I enjoy exercising, watching movies, traveling, connecting with family and providing emotional support to those in need.
