You can access the following Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs through the North Central Family Resource Network:
In our Youth Mentoring program, 14 to 18 year olds are matched with a mentor, who they meet out in the community on their own schedule. A mentor provides advice and guidance, helps the youth think about their future, and build healthy relationships.
Teens aged 13 and up are mentors to elementary-aged children in this site-based program. Teens learn leadership skills, while children have a mentor who cares about them and helps them succeed with peers. Inquire about local schools and locations that are participating near you.
PRISM: PRISM mentoring connects mentors and young people from the LGBTQ2S+ community. These mentoring relationships help young people to achieve goals, overcome challenges and
try new things. A mentor understands the adversity faced by LGBTQ2S+ young people, supports the mentee and celebrates who they are.
“My mentor cares about me. She listens and understands me. She is very kind and she supports me when I need it.” – BBBS Mentee
